We discuss social justice, power and politics and the transformative capacity of young people with Henry Wallice Charles – a legendary Youth Worker with a career spanning 40 years. Henry is an International Youth Development Specialist, a Youth Development Consultant at the Commonwealth Secretariat and a Policy and Strategy Advisor at Ladivina Consulting. Formerly, he has been a consultant in the Division of Education, Youth Affairs and Sport at Tobago House of Assembly in Trinidad, a Youth Policy Consultant for the Grenadian government and Regional Director the Commonwealth Secretariat. Henry is a proponent of positive youth development and critical consciousness theories. He has authored and presented several papers on youth empowerment, youth participation, the socio-political context of youth development, youth governance, youth economic empowerment, engaging young people in challenging circumstances and the professionalisation of youth development work.
