Robin Lockhart speaks to Christian Achaleke, a youth peace leader and activist from Cameroon, to discuss the work he’s doing to counter the radicalisation of young people in Africa by violent extremist groups.
Christian works with the CYPAN (Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network) and was voted Commonwealth Young Person of the Year in 2016, and he is an advocate for UN Resolution 2250. In December, ILYW attended the launch of the ‘The Missing Peace’ study mandated by the council, and you can watch our coverage of that event (https://youtu.be/_dAXBItR0Oc) and our interview with its author, the Director of Interpeace USA, Graeme Simpson (https://youtu.be/myHiv1fY0uI).
